Personal by Yasya Kravchenko

Brand identity and motion graphics for youtube

Yasya created a new space of calm on YouTube. Here, people speak slowly, argue slowly, and slowly discover insights. Intimate, dark, and quiet. We designed it to feel physical, restrained, and principled. We center the phrases and leave plenty of white space.

Yasya has her boundaries. With this project, she invites the audience just one step further — into her “personal”. In the intro screen, the background, like a curtain, slides aside, revealing the hosts’ gaze into the camera, but only for a second. The rhythm here is set by the sound by More Noir.

The idea of using the reflex of covering your face with your hand — when you’re being filmed without permission — became the key image of the project. The photo where Yasya “doesn’t want to be photographed” became the userpic. It also serves as a customized cursor that, on behalf of Yasya, pulls out the titles, shows explanations, and pauses, making the audience exhale.

New brand identity and motion for a YouTube space that doesn’t rush. Yasya’s channel doesn’t ask for your attention. It asks for silence. We built an identity that listens more than it speaks. Check out the project.
